Crystal Palace are reportedly weighing up a January bid for the Arsenal front-man.
According to a report from the Sun, Crystal Palace are interested in signing Arsenal hitman Danny Welbeck for around £10 million in January, and some Eagles fans took to Twitter in reaction to the news.
Crystal Palace have really struggled in front of goal this season, scoring just eight goals in 11 Premier League outings thus far, and Roy Hodgson will be desperate to add more firepower to his attacking ranks at Selhurst Park in January.
Whether Welbeck is the man for the job, though, is still up for debate.
The Sun claims that the south London outfit are weighing up a £10 million bid for the pacey forward, and Arsenal could be prepared to sell, given the strength in depth that Unai Emery has at his disposal in the attacking department at the Emirates.
Some Palace fans took to Twitter in response to the reports linking their club with a move for the 42-capped England international...
Striker is a strong word! Implies he gets goals!!! #fakenews would rather have benteke than Welbz......— tom clarkson (@clarksontom) 6 November 2018
Didn’t know u were a fan!!!! Seriously he’s shite, embarrassing at United, woeful at arsenal - he looks championship/Scottish standard to me........Dwight gale was and is better - not to mention Connor wickham— tom clarkson (@clarksontom) 6 November 2018
I would sooner have Danny ings all day long (if he’s on loan at saints) to be fair I have no idea— tom clarkson (@clarksontom) 6 November 2018
For £10m? Yeah, I'd take him. If he can pop up with 10-15 goals a season, & IF Benteke can do the same, I think we'll be proper sweet - especially if Wilf, Andros, McArthur, Luka & PVA keep chipping in too!— Danny 'E.H.G' Perry (@80scorpio80) 6 November 2018
Not another unlucky striker please.— rickerz (@rickerz61) 7 November 2018
