Are Tottenham Hotspur’s hopes of bringing Malcom to the Premier League over after he scored in Barca’s Champions League draw with Inter Milan?

In only his 26th minute of football in a Barcelona shirt, Malcom seized an all-too rare chance to remind everyone why the Catalan giants paid Bordeaux £36.5 million for his services in the summer.

Malcom has barely featured since moving to Spain having seemingly struggled to impress manager Ernesto Valverde. Before Tuesday’s 1-1 Champions League draw against Inter Milan, the Brazilian attacker had made just two cameo appearances in La Liga.

But just 90 seconds after coming off the bench at the San Siro, Malcom produced a moment of magic that has surely ignited his Barca career.

Sprinting towards the Inter box, Malcom cut inside and fired a brilliant finish into the far corner, struggling to hold back the tears as the relief overwhelmed him.

Speaking to Mundo Deportivo after the game, Malcom stated that he had no interest in giving up on life at the Camp Nou already, seemingly putting an end to speculation suggesting Tottenham could make a fresh move for a player they missed out on over the summer.

Sport claimed that Spurs were willing to make a club-record £44 million January bid and, on paper, Malcom could be the sort of ethereal talent that turns Mauricio Pochettino’s side into contenders for the biggest titles.

For now, however, it doesn’t look like he’s going anywhere.
