A number of Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to suggest that Everton need to look elsewhere amid reports from The Sun over the weekend which suggested that the Toffees want to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Wan-Bissaka is the most exciting prospect currently coming through at Selhurst Park. He made his senior debut earlier this year but now has to be considered one of the first names on Roy Hodgson's teamsheet.
He has arguably been Palace's most impressive performer so far this season. And understandably, he is now attracting plenty of interest ahead of the January transfer window.
The Sun suggested that the Toffees are compiling reports on Wan-Bissaka ahead of a potential future move for the full-back. Palace reportedly have no plans to sell in January, but Everton are considering their options.
In fact, The Sun have reported that Ademola Lookman and Cenk Tosun are being discussed as potential swap options to try and help sweeten any deal.
While some Palace fans are resigned to losing Wan-Bissaka in the future, they do not believe that he will go to Everton as he will have his sights set much higher. They believe that he could join one of the elite clubs further down the line.
It certainly does appear at this stage that many Palace supporters are not too concerned about the prospect of seeing the starlet move to Goodison Park.
Here is what some of the fans make of the reports...
Everton want Wan-Bissaka— CPFC HQ (@CPFCHQ) November 5, 2018
Yes, they’re a bigger club, but when will they learn that they’re never getting our star players? Do they rate themselves *that* highly?#CPFC
Everton are obviously a bigger club than us but Wan-Bissaka is obviously a bigger player than them don't know why they're gassing themselves so much— happi_boi. (@JoshuaCPFC) November 6, 2018
Everton are bigger than us, but Wan-Bissaka will stay a few years then move to a Champions League club. No way he’s leaving in Jan for anything less than silly money— • Phil • (@Phillyconcarne) November 5, 2018
Lookman isn’t good enough & Tosun said he was glad he signed for Everton not Palace! Neither wanted at Selhurst. As for letting AWB leave..... Not a chance!— Jerry Clark (@jhc_1954) November 5, 2018
Won’t happen.— Nick (@Nick_Simkins89) November 4, 2018
Can’t imagine he would go to Everton. Unquestionably an elite club player.— Nick Brett (@nicholasmbrett) November 4, 2018
I know this won’t be popular but for the right fee I’d sell. £30m + Lookman. Ward is good enough cover especially with Kelly in reserve. We need to spend the money elsewhere.— Darryl (@Juppopovic) November 4, 2018
He probably deserves another new contract to bring him in line with most of our squad, he’s past that early stage where he could have just been a flash in the pan, he’s a top player already.— CLH (@CabayeLovesHugs) November 4, 2018
