Joe Worrall's long-term future at Rangers isn't looking all that rosy.
The 21-year-old defender has struggled to make a positive impression on Rangers fans since joining the Gers on a season-long loan from Nottingham Forest.
It remains to be seen if the Scottish Premiership side even want him on a long-term basis, but the same could perhaps be said for Worrall.
The young centre-back intimated on Sunday that he would be returning to Nottingham Forest, stating that his stint under Steven Gerrard is just 'a loan for me'.
Here's how some Rangers fans reacted to his comments:
If that’s the kind of statement Joe Worrall comes out with, then the sooner Niko Katic comes back into the starting XI the better.— Kevin Wakeham (@KWRFC1995) November 4, 2018
Looks like Joe Worrall have made a gigantic mistake saying “it’s just a loan to me”, Katic should be Goldson partner in defence anyway.— 4-4-2 (EBT)Loyal (@thechosenfew12) November 4, 2018
hes a bombscare anyway— The Original Fraggle (@Rickster1873) November 4, 2018
If he wants to go back now that would be great.— (@LoyalistLaudrup) November 4, 2018

Joe Worrall hasn’t really said anything wrong I reckon. Forrest are his parent club.— Franky (@RangersFranky) November 4, 2018
It does seem only a matter of time before Gerrard reverts to using Nikola Katic instead of Worrall.
You need to consider the fact that the Gers haven't been leaking goals with Worrall in central defence, but Katic alongside Connor Goldson is simply a better partnership.
Worrall is young and might develop into a top-drawer central defender one day, but for now he remains very raw.
