The former Rangers player has been tentatively linked with a return to Ibrox, where Steven Gerrard is manager.

Rangers fans are reacting to reports that a former Ibrox midfielder has turned down a new contract.
Lewis Macleod, who progressed through Rangers’ academy ranks before leaving for Brentford, has entered the final year of his contract in west London.
And the 24-year-old will move for nothing next summer if an agreement cannot be reached before then.
The Scottish Sun has already credited Rangers, along with Leeds United, with interest in a move for Macleod – although the midfielder’s manager, Thomas Frank, insisted on Thursday that negotiations over a new deal remain ongoing.
But how do the Rangers faithful feel about Macleod’s situation?
Some, it seems, would welcome him back with open arms…
Whereas others are not so sure…
Speaking via the Bees United Facebook page on Thursday, Frank said: “I think – I know the club and (Macleod) are negotiating about a new contract. Then we need to see what is happening.
“Just wait for that.”

Brentford are reported to have paid £850,000 to prise Macleod from Rangers in January 2015, but have been without the former Scotland Under-21 international for much of his Bees career through injury.
Should Rangers consider a move for their former midfielder, Macleod?
