Joe Worrall has starred for Rangers since joining the club from English Championship outfit Nottingham Forest back in the summer on loan – and Forest fans have begged their club to recall the centre-back in January.

The 21-year-old made his debut for Rangers in the Europa League against Spanish side Villarreal and has gone from strength to strength under the guidance of Steven Gerrard.

He has broken into the first team alongside Connor Goldson, ousting Nikola Katic while Gareth McAuley is yet to make his debut for Rangers after completing a free transfer from West Bromwich Albion.

Forest have started well in the Championship, sitting in seventh place after 15 games and only losing twice. They currently boast plenty of options at centre-back, in Danny Fox, Michael Dawson, Tobias Figuerido and Michael Hefele.

But after the club’s 3-2 loss to rivals Burton Albion in the Carabao Cup, question marks have been raised about summer signing Hefele and the decision to allow Worrall to leave.

Forest fans have taken to Twitter in a bid to convince their side to recall Worrall, who was once linked with a move to Premier League side Burnley, only for Forest to reject a £10million bid (Nottingham Post).
