Wolves legend Steve Bull spoke exclusively to the Express & Star about his former club's start to the season, and admitted that he is surprised that Leander Dendoncker is still yet to feature in the Premier League.
The 23-year-old joined the Black Country outfit on a season long loan deal from Anderlecht in the summer, and the move will be made permanent at the end of the season, for a fee believed to be worth somewhere in the region of £12 million.
Dendoncker has failed to establish himself at Molineux yet, however, making just two appearances thus far, with both of those coming in the Carabao Cup.
"Signed in the summer on a loan deal which will be made permanent next summer for £12million, he is yet to be included in a Premier League squad. He is a Belgian international – part of the side which finished third at the World Cup earlier this year – and has Champions League and Europa League experience from his time with Anderlecht so it is surprising that he has not had any involvement other than the two League Cup games."
Next up for Wolves is a trip to Brighton and Hove Albion today, and Dendoncker will be hoping that he is finally given a chance to prove his worth on the biggest stage.
