Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Nathan Ake, report the Daily Star.

Ake has been excelling for Bournemouth since joining the club permanently in 2017.

The decision to let him leave still rankles with Chelsea supporters who can't believe the lack of foresight shown by the club.

A recent editorial in The Chelsea Chronicle lamented Ake's departure, adding that he would have been perfect for Maurizio Sarri's side.

To see Ake move to London rivals Tottenham then, would make those feelings of regret even more painful.

Ake is only 23-years-old and would be playing his peak years for Tottenham if he were to make the move.

The Dutch international is versatile and can play at centre-back, full-back, and even in defensive midfield.

Bournemouth are benefiting from him right now but the recent round of transfer speculation shows they are likely to be tested.

Perhaps Chelsea will realise their mistake and choose to try and bring him back, to stop him joining a rival?
