Gomez played under the Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa in Spain.

Some Leeds United supporters are reacting to reports linking the Whites with Ibai Gomez, the Deportivo Alaves winger.
According to Goal, Leeds are confident of agreeing a January deal for Gomez, who played under the United manager Marcelo Bielsa at Athletic Club de Bilbao.
The website also states, however, that Bielsa is only ‘hopeful’ he can tempt the 28-year-old to England’s second tier.
On paper, it would be no mean feat, with Gomez having started all nine of his side’s La Liga fixtures this season, helping them to third in the standings.

The Basque is, however, out of contract at the end of the campaign, which could leave Alaves vulnerable to offers when the transfer window re-opens.
But do Leeds fans want him at Elland Road? Here’s what’s being said on Twitter…
While Leeds are by no means short in wide positions, two of their options – Jack Harrison and Isaiah Brown – are due to return to their parent clubs next summer.
