Joe Worrall has told Rangers’ official YouTube channel that he is finding it tough living in Scotland after his move to Ibrox from Nottingham Forest on loan for the 2018-19 season.

The 21-year-old has made six appearances in all competitions for Rangers since his move north of the border, impressing in Steven Gerrard’s side and even breaking his way into the side above Nikola Katic.

Worrall found himself out of favour at Forest despite the English Championship side rejecting a £10million offer for his services from Premier League side Burnley in January, according to the Nottingham Post.

Worrall stated that despite living by himself for the past two years, he is struggling to adapt to life in Glasgow without the support of his Mother after moving away from Nottingham where he was indeed born.

“I’ve gone from playing zero football to quite a lot of games in a short space of time,” Worrall said. “Especially the big European nights, they take it out of you. It’s always nice to go back down.

“I’ve lived on my own for a couple of years now, but coming up and moving away is tough and not seeing your Mum for a couple of weeks.”

Worrall was rested on Sunday afternoon as Rangers beat Hamilton, after Gerrard named the summer signing on the bench ahead of what is two crucial fixtures this week. But he came on as a sub, replacing Katic in the 79th minute.

The Gers left it late to earn a 4-1 win at the SuperSeal Stadium despite being far from their best. It was the Gers first away league win since February.

Now, Steven Gerrard’s men look ahead to Thursday night as they play host to Russian outfit Spartak Moscow in the Europa League before facing Aberdeen in the Scottish League Cup semi-final at Hampden Park.
