Fabri has made just two Premier League appearances since he joined Fulham from Besiktas for £5million.

Few expected that Marcus Bettinelli would be firmly established as Fulham’s number one goalkeeper with a week until the start of November.

The Cottagers signed Spanish international Sergio Rico from Sevilla, while paying £5 million for Besiktas’s experienced shot-stopper Fabri, according to Sky Sports. But both Rico and Fabri have found themselves out of favour, with Bettinelli now starting regularly between the sticks.

Interestingly, 30-year-old Fabri did start Fulham’s opening two Premier League games. But he looked far from convincing in 2-0 and 3-1 defeats to Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur.

The former Deportivo and Real Betis ‘keeper has been left out of Fulham’s last four match day squads.

According to Fotomac, Fabri has now come to the conclusion that he wants to return to Besiktas in the summer transfer window and views his summer move to Craven Cottage as a mistake.

The 2017 Super Lig champions did sign Loris Karius on loan from Liverpool, but the much-maligned German has seen his position in the starting XI come under scrutiny of late, particularly after another mistake in the Europa League defeat at Malmo before the international break.

So there might be room back at Besiktas for Fabri.
