HITC Sport understands Watford goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann is set for new deal.

Watford goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann is poised to sign a new long-term deal at the club, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Bachmann is currently on a season-long loan at Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock after joining them during the summer transfer window.


The 24-year-old has made one appearance so far this season for Steve Clarke's side in the Scottish League Cup defeat to Rangers.

Bachmann joined Watford on a free transfer in the summer of 2017 after spending the previous six years at Stoke City.

The former Austria Under-21 international did not make a first-team appearance for Stoke, having spells out on loan at Wrexham, Ross County and Bury.

Bachmann has yet to make a first-team appearance for Watford, but he is highly-regarded within the corridors of power at Vicarage Road.

Watford were willing to loan out Bachmann in the summer following the arrival of Ben Foster as they wanted Bachmann to get valuable first-team experience under his belt.

Bachmann has just over 18 months to run on his current contract at Watford and they club want to tie him down to a longer-term contract as they plan for the future.
