Tottenham Hotspur winger’s success this season has been astonishing.

Erik Lamela has been one of the success stories of Tottenham’s past month.
The Argentine has bounced back from an injury which kept him out of the first few games of the season and become a key contributor.
What makes his efforts more remarkable is that Lamela has not started a single Premier League game all season.
Lamela has played four league games, all from the substitute’s bench.
This has amounted to just 88 minutes of Premier League playing time.

In that period he has managed to score two goals, and provide one assist.
Compare this to Lucas Moura, whose bright start has faded. His three goals have come in 635 minutes of action.
In form Lamela also managed one goal and two assists in two Champions League matches. Not to mention a goal in the Carabao Cup as well.
It is an astounding rate, which unfortunately is unsustainable.
Tottenham must keep playing him during his hot streak, and give him chances to start.
He’s earned it. But there must also be a fair level of expectation upon Lamela, that he will slow down.
