Real Madrid star Sergio Ramos seems to rate Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane highly.

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has told The Guardian that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane can be a success in La Liga.

Ramos made the comments ahead of Spain’s UEFA Nations League Group A4 match against England this evening.

The 32-year-old Spain international defender told The Guardian when asked if any of the England players had the technical capabilities to play in Spain: “Well, I am very impressed by all of them.

“You maybe concentrate on the physical in the Premier League but there is also very important technical players. I’ll start with Harry Kane. He’s a physically fantastic striker but also technically he surprises you.

“He might surprise a lot of people but not me. He’s great technically but there’s also other technical players who are dangerous and I can assure you we’ve been studying them, watching them on videos.”

Flattering remarks

Ramos is one of the best defenders on the planet and is a world-class defender, and the 32-year-old’s comments about Kane are very flattering.

After all, the former Sevilla star has played with some of the best players in the world, such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Luka Modric and Karim Benzema, and is a serial winner, having won La Liga, the Champions League, the World Cup and the European Championship.

Kane is one of the best strikers in the world and has been a regular goalscorer in the Premier League for the pst few seasons.

The 25-year-old certainly has the quality and the calibre to be a success in La Liga, which is one of the best and most entertaining domestic leagues in Europe.

Harry Winks praise

Meanwhile, England manager Gareth Southgate has spoken highly of Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks.

Southgate told The Daily Mail: “I think he can play as a deep-lying pivot or as a No 8,' said Southgate of Winks on Sunday night.

“He's very good at connecting the game, sees good pictures. His technique is solid. He's less of a final third player, but a builder of the game.

“Technically he's a good player, composed, and he's has faced top opposition in those two teams already. He has some experience of big matches and we were pleased with him against Lithuania.”
