The 22-year-old striker has praised his Scotland international teammate Cummings, and believes that the 23-year-old is better than playing in League One.
McBurnie told The Scottish Sun about Cummings: “I hope he can keep doing what he’s doing at Peterborough and then he will get to where he wants to be. With all respect to them, he’s better than that level and I think he will show that.”
Cummings has struggled to make an impact at Forest since his move from Hibernian in the summer of 2017 for a transfer fee reported by Sky Sports to be worth £1 million.
The Scotland international striker spent the second half of last season on loan at Rangers in the Scottish Premiership, but the 23-year-old failed to make a huge impact at Ibrox.
The 23-year-old has scored six goals and provided four assists in 10 League One appearances for Peterborough so far this season, according to Transfermarkt.com.
Peterborough are aiming to win promotion from League One, while Forest are challenging for the Championship playoffs this season.
