Jack Butland is fully aware that staying in the Championship with Stoke City will do little for his reputation.
The England international’s role in Gareth Southgate’s team has been questioned by some after The Potters were relegated from the Premier League last season and Butland himself indicated recently to Sky Sports that he needs to be playing top flight football as soon as possible.
And according to The Sun, Butland is keen to link up with the influential Triple S Sports and Entertainment Group in order to seal a return to the Premier League in the near future.
Though by the time the summer window slammed shut, Nuno Espirito Santo found a more experienced and arguably reliable goalkeeper with Portugal’s number one arriving from Sporting Lisbon.
And with Patricio starring since his move to Molineux, it makes no sense for Butland to move to Wolves only to sit on the bench.
Leicester, meanwhile, who were also reported to be interested, signed Danny Ward as back-up to Kasper Schmeichel so there appears to be no room for him at the King Power either.
Is Butland stuck at Stoke?
