Darragh MacAnthony doesn’t agree with Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani

Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony does not agree with Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani about the creation of Premier League 2.

Last week, Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani suggested the creation of a Premier League 2.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Leeds owner Radrizzani explained why a Premier League 2 will help clubs like the West Yorkshire outfit (click here to read more).

Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony, though, does not seem to agree with the Italian businessman.

 

MacAnthony has claimed that if Premier League 2 was created, then Peterborough would become extinct, branding the idea as a “disaster”.

The Peterborough chairman responded to the following question on social networking site Twitter by posting: “An absolute f***ing disaster for the @EFL if he & other champ owners got their way with PL2. We’d be extinct quickly.”

Pushing for promotion

Both Peterborough and Leeds are ambitious clubs, and they are aiming for promotion from their respective divisions this season.

While Posh are planning to finish in the top two of League One this season, Leeds are aiming to end up in the automatic promotion places in the Championship.

The West Yorkshire outfit are third in the Championship table at the moment with 23 points from 12 matches, while Peterborough are currently second in the League One standings with 27 points from 13 games.
