Several Tottenham fans reacted on Twitter after Jadon Sancho got the chance to make his England debut during their Nations League clash with Croatia on Friday night, with many feeling that the youngster's cameo provided another reminder of one of Spurs' biggest missed opportunities for several years.
After a stunning start to the season with Borussia Dortmund, the 18-year-old was handed a call-up to Gareth Southgate's squad. And he got the chance to make his debut in Rijeka as he came on for the final 12 minutes.
It is clear why there is such a buzz around Sancho at the moment. The winger looked lively and brought some excitement to the stalemate that leaves England six points behind Spain in their Nations League group.
It is not difficult to see why so many Premier League sides are reportedly interested in bringing Sancho back to England. The Daily Mirror reported earlier this month that Spurs, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United all have their eye on the teenager, who is rated at £100 million.
The Mirror also alluded to the fact that Spurs' interest comes after they tried to sign the youngster while he was at Manchester City, and hoped to get him included as part of the deal that saw Kyle Walker leave Mauricio Pochettino's side.
That inability to get a deal done before Sancho had established himself at senior level for his club looks costly, especially now that he emerged as the shining light from a fairly underwhelming night for England and will surely not need to wait too long to add to his tally of international caps.
And in response to his performance on Friday, a number of Spurs fans took to Twitter to express their frustration over not signing Sancho when they seemingly had an opportunity before his switch to the Westfalenstadion.
Here is what some of the Tottenham fans made of Sancho's cameo for England...
Bloody good job Spurs didn’t sign Jadon Sancho in the summer...he’s crap isn’t he Levy?♂️♂️♂️♂️♂️— Colin Hulyer (@ColinHulyer) October 12, 2018

It’s still criminal that we let Man City have Walker without Sancho coming our way as part of the deal. No idea why we didn’t insist on him or Walker was going nowhere.— The Spurs Compendium (@SpursCompendium) October 12, 2018
Sancho is sick, let's ave it— Shelbie ⚽ (@Shelbie_THFC) October 12, 2018
