Former England star says Aston Villa have made a smart decision.
Former England goalkeeper Peter Shilton believes Aston Villa have made a very smart choice hiring John Terry.
Terry is set to work under new Villa boss Dean Smith as part of a new management team.
Shilton believes Terry has the makings of a fantastic coach. He also expressed his condolences to the club after the passing of former chairman Doug Ellis.
Great to see John Terry getting a chance at coaching at Aston Villa ! I think he is made for the role and can do well ! Also l am sorry for the passing of Doug Ellis who spent his life working for Villa!— Peter Shilton (@Peter_Shilton) October 11, 2018
Terry spent time at Villa last season as a player, with success, leading them to the play-off final.
He already has the trust and respect of the club's players before he has even set foot in the door.
Villa are currently in 15th place in the Championship after a dreadful start to the season in comparison to their lofty expectations.
Working under an experienced boss like Dean Smith is the perfect way for Terry to learn the ropes of management before he one day goes it alone.
