Galatasaray are certainly hedging their bets in their pursuit of a new striker.
The reigning Turkish Super Lig champions are desperate to replace last season's 29-goal top-scorer Bafetimbi Gomis in the January transfer window and a number of Premier League players are understood to be on their radar.
Turkish Football claimed earlier this week that Everton’s out-of-favour forward Oumar Niasse is one name on their wish list.
The Senegal international, who has played just 48 minutes of Premier League football this season, is understood to have been informed that he can leave in the New Year.
But, according to Haber Turk, Galatasaray have identified the Leicester City cult hero Shinji Okazaki as another potential option. It is understood that the legendary manager Fatih Terim is a big fan of the 32-year-old and could make a move in January.
Okazaki was influential during Leicester’s famous Premier League title win of 2015/16, but his game time has dried up since the arrival of Claude Puel. The former Mainz man has played just 25 minutes of Premier League football this season.
If he moves to Turkey, Okazaki will be reunited with fellow Japanese international Yuto Nagatomo.
It remains to be seen, however, whether Gala will turn to Everton or Leicester first.
