Christian Benteke will be out of action for Crystal Palace until 2019.

Crystal Palace fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to the injury suffered by Christian Benteke.

Palace manager Roy Hodgson has told Sky Sports that Benteke will be on the sidelines until 2019.

The former Liverpool and Aston Villa striker successfully underwent a knee surgery on Wednesday.

 

The 27-year-old Belgium international has failed to score a single goal in 328 minutes of Premier League football so far this season, according to WhoScored.

During the 2017-18 campaign, Benteke - who earns £120,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com - scored three goals and provided five assists in 24 Premier League starts for the Eagles, according to WhoScored.

Back in 2016-17, the former Villa striker - who joined Palace from Liverpool in the summer of 2016 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £27 million - scored 15 goals and provided two assists in 36 league matches for the London club, according to WhoScored.
