Rangers manager Steven Gerrard
The former Rangers midfielder, who had two separate spells at Ibrox, believes that the Gers need one or two more players to be considered exceptional.
Ferguson wrote in The Daily Record: “If I’m being picky, this current Rangers group are just one or two players short of being exceptional, but there’s no doubt they have enough about them to find a solution to their form on the road.”
Challenging for the title
Celtic may not have started the season, but there is no doubt that the Hoops are the favourites for the Scottish Premiership title this season.
While it is clear that Rangers do not have the quality of players that Celtic do at the moment, the Gers are certainly in the title race.
If Gerrard’s side are able to improve their away form and start wining matches on the road, then they will be giving Celtic a run for their money.
Rangers are sixth in the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 14 points from eight matches, five points behind leaders Heart of Midlothian.
As for Celtic, Brendan Rodgers’s side are currently third in the league table with 16 points from eight games.
