Kevin Kyle has told Open Goal's 'Keeping The Ball On The Ground' that Celtic's defence is a "bit iffy", and some Hoops fans have reacted by slamming the former Rangers star.
Celtic currently sit in third in the Scottish Premiership, behind Hibernian and Hearts after eight league games, with many pundits criticising the likes of Jozo Simunovic and Jack Hendry.
There have been mistakes at the back - especially in Europe - but the stats show that the Hoops have conceded only 13 goals in all competitions this season, only four of which have come in the league.
Former Rangers and Hearts striker Kyle claimed that Celtic are somewhat weak at the back, despite Brendan Rodgers' side smashing St. Johnstone 6-0 at Perth on Sunday afternoon.
"St. Johnstone were very poor on the weekend," Kyle said. "They never got at Celtic but when teams do get at Celtic, they struggle because they're a wee bit iffy defensively."
Dedryck Boyata's return to the fold has certainly helped Rodgers and Celtic in their bid to tighten things up, but the form of Hendry and Simunovic is certainly a concern, with Kristoffer Ajer sidelined and Marvin Compper ostracised.
But with only four goals conceded in the league, Celtic fans completely disagreed with Kyle's comments and took to Twitter to blast the former Gers striker. One fan Tweeted: "This myth is wild."

At European level, Celtic are certainly a bit iffy, but domestically Celtic have conceed once in the cup and less than anyone in the league (4)...so this myth is wild. pic.twitter.com/skhHnvvDWS
Same old story. Been the same rhetoric for years with no proof.— Celtic Fan7one (@celticfanzone) October 10, 2018
Kevin Kyle calling another footballer, team or unit "a bit iffy" is hilarious. Straight out the Alex McLeish & James McFadden coaching school.— R4tser (@R4tser) October 10, 2018
Kyle obviously went to the school of Kris Boyd punditry. Absolute crap, 7 out of 8 clean sheets domestically. #Muppet— Scott68 (@Graham6895) October 10, 2018
I’ve said that from day one, Europe aside n the odd blunder in a game, our defence are quite solid. It’s Europe n the blunders that always get highlighted ♂️— My Name is.. (@StevenK10901496) October 10, 2018
Our defence is solid in the league, can look back years and see how solid it has been in the league. Only thing is we cannot defend in Europe, don't know what changes.— Joe Schiavone (@joeshiv_) October 11, 2018
