Liverpool look to be seriously challenging for the Premier League title this season, but Jurgen Klopp should certainly be in the market for new signings in 2019.
The Reds haven't won in the last four, and there are clearly still some issues in Klopp's side, particularly a lack of creativity from the centre of midfield.
Georgino Wijnaldum and James Milner are performing well, but Naby Keita has yet to really get going, and Milner is out of contract next summer and could move on.
Adding more creativity has to be a priority for Liverpool this summer, and they can do it for free by snapping up Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
Rabiot, 23, will see his PSG deal expire next summer, meaning he will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club in January – and Liverpool should be preparing their offer now.
The Frenchman is tall and rangy, whilst possessing outstanding technical ability to pick out passes, and can drive forward to create in the final third, even if he isn't a regular goalscorer.
A future Liverpool midfield of Fabinho, Naby Keita and Rabiot could be outstanding for Liverpool, and there are few midfielders that could represent a bargain as impressive as Rabiot, whilst Liverpool are no strangers to pre-contract agreements having signed Joel Matip in a similar way in 2016.
Competition for Rabiot will be fierce, but Liverpool must prepare their pre-contract offer now, ready to go for when he can sign, and kickstart Klopp's summer transfer business early.
