Raul Jimenez might have scored just twice in eight Premier League games since he arrived at Wolverhampton Wanderers but don’t let that fool you – the Mexican international has been a massive success.
The striker’s game is about more than goals after all. The 27-year-old is the perfect centre-forward for a Nuno Espirito Santo team, leading the line with physicality and intelligent hold-up play while acting as the perfect link man.
Jimenez grabbed his third assist of the season already on Saturday, his perfectly weighted through ball setting up roving right-back Matt Doherty for the winner away at Crystal Palace.
And, if you ask Wolves fans, it seems many of them would love to see the former Atletico Madrid man snapped up as early as January.
Now, £30 million seems like a lot of money for a striker who has scored 21 league goals since he arrived in European football in 2014. But Jimenez’s importance to Wolves cannot be understated right now.

He's been a big component of our successful start to the season. The way he's slotted in you'd think he'd been playing in the Premier League for years! Hope we can get him on a permanent deal in January...— Nick Moseley (@NMoseley_Writer) October 10, 2018
