Whiteman has committed himself to Tottenham until June 2020, with his previous deal due to expire a year earlier.

In that time, the 20-year-old will hope to challenge senior rivals Michel Vorm, Paulo Gazzaniga and Hugo Lloris for a spot between the Spurs sticks.

And according to the following Tottenham fans, he should already be ahead of one or two of those.

This is what they're saying...

Gazzaniga impressed in the absence of Lloris and Vorm earlier in the campaign, and it could be argued that neither of the latter pair have been able to replicate the Argentine's form.

Whiteman grew up in Tottenham and is a lifelong fan of Mauricio Pochettino's team.

But despite being named on the bench against Crystal Palace and Gillingham in recent seasons, the England youth international has yet to feature competitively for Spurs.
