The former Everton target, Wilfried Kanon, is 'high on Crystal Palace's January shopping list', according to the Sun.

The newspaper claims the Palace manager, Roy Hodgson, is looking to bolster his defensive options when the transfer window reopens, adding that Kanon's employers, ADO Den Haag, are resigned to losing the Ivorian if his valuation is met.

Kanon is said to have been eyed as a possible summer recruit for Everton prior to Marco Silva's appointment as manager, in place of Sam Allardyce.

But Crystal Palace could still face competition for the 25-year-old from 'a host of clubs in England and Spain', according to the Sun.

Palace are currently without Scott Dann to injury, but still have Mamadou Sakho, James Tomkins, Martin Kelly and Jairo Riedewald all capable of operating in Kanon's preferred position of centre-half.

Everton have suffered a shortage there of late, but should have Yerry Mina back soon.

Would the former Everton target be a good addition for Crystal Palace?
