Tottenham Hotspur picked up a narrow win on Saturday, but it was not a particularly memorable afternoon for Mauricio Pochettino's men.

A number of Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Moussa Sissoko's performance as he made a rare Premier League start for Spurs against Cardiff City on Saturday.

Sissoko was picked on the right as Mauricio Pochettino's men looked to go into the international break on a high after their Champions League defeat to Barcelona in midweek.

They did secure the three points, but it was perhaps not the kind of performance that will live long in the Spurs fans' memories as Eric Dier scored the game's only goal eight minutes in. And although the home side dominated possession, they found it difficult to break down the Bluebirds, who played most of the second-half with 10 men after Joe Ralls was dismissed.

Sissoko's display seemed to receive a mixed response on social media, but the majority of the Tottenham fans seemed to be impressed with the 29-year-old.

There was some criticism for the former Newcastle midfielder - some felt that he did not offer enough - but many were actually pleased with his effort and actually thought that he vindicated Pochettino's decision to include him in the starting lineup.

And while the bar was not particularly high in this game, some actually felt that Sissoko made a case to be considered Spurs' man of the match.
