Queens Park Rangers Director of Football Les Ferdinand has told Football.London that the club want to keep hold of Luke Freeman.

Freeman has been on the books of QPR since January 2017 when he joined from Bristol City for a transfer fee reported by Football.London to be worth £350,000.

The 26-year-old midfielder has a contract with the London club until June 2020, according to Transfermarkt.com, and QPR Director of Football Ferdinand has said that he wants the former England Under-17 international to stay at Loftus Road.

Ferdinand told Football.London: "I think we have to be realistic about where we are.

“Of course we want to keep the likes of Luke because he came in for little money and he's an example of where we are as a football club in terms of bringing people in and capitalising on what perhaps other clubs haven't done and moving them on. That's where we are as a football club.”

Good move

Freeman has been one of the best players for QPR over the past few months, and it would make sense for Rangers to hand the midfielder a new contract and secure his long-term future.

The former Arsenal prospect has scored one goal and provided one assist in 11 Championship appearances for QPR so far this season, according to WhoScored.

QPR are 17th in the Championship table at the moment with 13 points from 11 matches.
