Arsenal won, but Mohamed Elneny hasn't escaped criticism from fans again.
Some Arsenal fans on Twitter really aren't happy with Mohamed Elneny.
The Gunners thumped Qarabag 3-0 in Azerbaijan to make it seven goals in two Europa League games for Unai Emery's side.
There were a number of stand-out performers for the Premier League side, but one of them might not have been Elneny.
The former Basel midfielder, signed by ex-Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger for £7 million in 2016, did not really shield the visitors' defence and then struggled even more when Emery put him in an advanced midfield role for the second half.
Here's how some Arsenal fans reacted to the display:
Elneny is dirt poor.— AFC SA (@AFCSA16) October 4, 2018

Elneny and Guendouzi midfield does not work and should not exist. I think this is Elneny's level tbh— Lacaubs⚡ (@LacaubsAFC) October 4, 2018

This is Elneny in a nutshell.— Woz ⚽️ (@wozthegooner) October 4, 2018
100% pass completion and there is literally probably 1 progressive pass in the entire lot.
He’s one paced, slow on the ball, offers absolutely nothing.
Never ever Arsenal standard. pic.twitter.com/ReNs3q1LJR
I’ve got nothing against Elneny whatsoever, but he’s not good enough for us, not even at this level.— James (@JECook96) October 4, 2018
Egyptian Jay Spearing.
Elneny is so finished— Levi Ackerman (@caim42) October 4, 2018
Elneny was also unfavourably received after the win over Watford at the weekend and although he does a fair bit of hard work, industry does not always compensate for lack of ability.
