Ryan Jack is back, and just in time for Thursday’s Europa League clash against Rapid Vienna at Ibrox.
The Scotland international has been missing since the 1-0 defeat at Celtic a month ago, with a calf injury ruling him out of Rangers’ games for the rest of September.
It remains to be seen whether Jack is able to play against Rapid Vienna, but his return to action could be perfectly timed with Rangers set to host Scottish Premiership leaders Hearts on Sunday.
The former Aberdeen captain enjoyed a positive start to his second season in Glasgow and could have an important role to play against Craig Levein’s side, if he is deemed fit enough to start the crunch clash.
Jack is the man who puts out fires in the Rangers midfield, and his ability to stop attacks in front of the defence will be crucial to limiting the influence of the in-form Steven Naismith, who has scored nine goals in 12 games this season.
