Youngster Matty Ward is heading to West Ham United on trial, after a similar spell at Leeds United, his agency has announced.

Sport Recruit USA (SRUSA) tweeted that Ward had enjoyed a 'great week on trial' with Leeds, where he scored against the Whites under-18s.

It is unclear, however, if he impressed the Yorkshire side enough to earn a longer-term stay - and Leeds' loss could be West Ham's gain.

SRUSA, who claim on Twitter to be the 'Worlds (sic) #1 College Soccer Placement Experts', previously acquired Matthew Keogh from Leeds, after the teenager's Elland Road contract expired earlier this year.

Born and raised in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, Keogh spent 10 years on the Whites' books before heading across the Atlantic.

Ward will link up with fellow American Peter Stroud, the midfielder signed from New York Red Bulls in the summer, at West Ham.
