Sheffield Wednesday host top of the league West Bromwich Albion tomorrow night.
For the second time in five days, Sheffield Wednesday welcome top of the league* to Hillsborough in the shape of West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday evening.
The Owls held Leeds to a 1-1 draw on Friday, ironically allowing West Brom to seize the initiative at the summit.
But a booking for Barry Bannan in that game – number five for the season – means Jos Luhukay’s side must do without their season’s star performer against the Baggies.
That is likely to see Josh Onomah, the on-loan Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, make only the second start of his Sheffield Wednesday career, while Liam Palmer is in line to replace Ashley Baker after the right-back picked up a knock against Leeds.
With a trip to Bristol City to follow on Sunday, Luhukay could make further tweaks to his Owls starting line-up, with Morgan Fox, Fraser Preston, Atdhe Nuhiu, and Lucas Joao all fresh.
Luhukay admitted on Tuesday however that Daniel Pudil requires the doctor’s permission to return to his side, while also ruling out Marco Matias with a hamstring injury.
