Halme is enjoying a run in Leeds United’s second string, continuing against Nottingham Forest on Monday.

Aapo Halme is continuing to catch the eye for Leeds United’s Under-23 side, who beat their Nottingham Forest counterparts 2-0 on Monday.

The January signing from HJK Helsinki drew praise from a number of Leeds fans, despite being on the receiving end of a 2-0 defeat at Bolton Wanderers’ U23s, last week.

And it is Halme’s name that is again doing the rounds on Twitter after Carlos Corberan’s team overcame Nottingham Forest, courtesy of goals from Ryan Edmondson and Jordan Stevens – despite having several first team players, notably Jamal Blackman, Tom Pearce, Adam Forshaw, Lewis Baker and Stuart Dallas, for company at Thorp Arch.

This is what’s being said about the 20-year-old’s display…

Halme has endured a frustrating start to his Leeds career, suffering a serious foot injury shortly after it began.

It wasn’t until the end of August that Halme made his debut for Leeds’ second string, but the young Finn could soon find himself of interest first team boss Marcelo Bielsa, who has found himself with only two fit centre-halves – Liam Cooper and Pontus Jansson – in recent weeks.

What did you make of Halme’s performance against Nottingham Forest U23s?
