Some Aston Villa fans on Twitter have congratulated Robert Snodgrass for his performance for West Ham United on Saturday.

The West Ham winger earned an 18-minute cameo as Manuel Pellegrini's side beat Manchester United 3-1 at the London Stadium.

It was the Irons' most impressive and most exciting victory of the Premier League season so far.

Snodgrass spent the 2017-18 campaign on loan at Aston Villa, helping Steve Bruce's side to the playoff final in the process.

The 31-year-old, who set up 14 Championship goals for the Villans last season, posted a message on Twitter shortly after Saturday's triumph.

And here's how Aston Villa fans responded to their star of last season:

What an asset Snodgrass could've been for the West Midlands side this season, but Bruce, who told The Mirror in August that he wanted to re-sign the Scot, failed to bring him back.

He is enjoying quite the resurgence in East London under Pellegrini and West Ham fans are taking quite a shine to him, after failing to impress them originally following a £10 million move from Hull City in January 2017.
