A number of Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to laud Tyler Roberts' performance during their 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday on Friday night which saw Marcelo Bielsa's men put in a much-improved display.
After going 2-0 down to Birmingham City last week, the Whites showed a lot of promise as they attempted to turn the game around. They still fell to their first league defeat of the season, but there was reason to not lose much optimism as Leeds showed plenty of spirit to fight back.
They may however, have lost some of that optimism when, after controlling much of the game up until that point, Adam Reach scored an incredible goal just before half-time for the Owls.
Leeds would equalise at Hillsborough and certainly did the better job of pushing for a winner. But the home side held on to pick up a decent point.
It was perhaps a frustrating night, but Leeds will go into their clash with Hull feeling extremely positive. And one of the players whose latest performance was widely praised was Roberts.
The forward endured a difficult night and was not given a lot of service, but his effort could not be questioned, and a lot of supporters were extremely impressed by his movement. While many are looking forward to Kemar Roofe's return, several are convinced that Roberts is going to prove to be a fantastic signing once he realises his potential.
Here is what some of the fans made of Roberts' performance...
Anyone who bitch about Roberts contribution since he stepped in, should just give up watching football because you obviously have no idea of the sport you are watching. Maybe try something simpler like darts #lufc— andyinuk (@andyinuk79) September 29, 2018
Tyler Roberts movement is so good! Liked what I’ve seen of him so far. Think he’s more suited to playing at home but he’s decent back up! #lufc— Adam Room (@AdamRoom17) September 29, 2018
Nothing wrong with Roberts. Good player technically but he does lack that cutting edge up top.— Callum #LUFC (@21_lufc) September 28, 2018
Very much looking forward to getting Roofe back. He’s a different class imo.#lufc
Impressed with Tyler Roberts tonight. It took some desperate, last-ditch defending to keep hom, and nine other Leeds players from scoring. BPF was the only player not to have a crack at their goal. Come on Bailey. Must try harder. Lmao. #lufc #MOT #ALAW— Alistair Walker (@8ballali) September 28, 2018
Again, I'm seeing a lot of people criticising Roberts. Thought he was excellent and in all the games I've watched, not seen him do much wrong. Really like the look of him. #LUFC— Ben Pearson (@LUFCpearson27) September 28, 2018
Roberts looks really good in patches but we are sorely missing Roofe and/or Bamford for the goals and killer instinct. #LUFC— Will Thackray (@will23thackray) September 28, 2018
