Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter can't believe that Erik Lamela has been left out of the latest Argentina squad.

Spurs centre-back Juan Foyth could make his debut for the South American giants after being named in the squad for the friendly with Brazil next month.

But there was no room for the former Roma winger, who has three goals and one assist in his last four games for Tottenham.

Here's how some fans of the North London club reacted to the snub:

It's been an exceptional first couple of months of the season for Lamela, whose productivity has been questioned in recent years.

The 26-year-old only has 12 goals in 113 Premier League appearances for the Lilywhites but this could be the season when he silences the majority of his critics.

It should also be noted that Lionel Messi was among those excluded from the Argentina squad, so it remains to be seen whether Lamela's omission is as it seems.
