Rangers-supporting Lawrence Shankland responds to Gers fans who teased him over embarrassing Ovie Ejaria encounter

Lawrence Shankland has responded to Rangers fans who teased him over Wednesday's embarrassing encounter with Ovie Ejaria at Ibrox.

Footage of Shankland - the Rangers-supporting Ayr United striker lighting up Scotland's second tier this season - struggling to get a hold of Ejaria has been widely circulated on Twitter.



And after being asked by one Gers supporter if he thought he was going to get the ball ("you wee f****** idiot?"), Shankland replied in good humour.

"Canny mind I'm still dizzy", wrote the Glaswegian.

Shankland - who has scored 13 goals in his last 11 outings - has been linked with a number of clubs north and south of the border in recent months.

And speaking to BT Sport on Wednesday, Michael Stewart, the former Rangers youth team player, claimed the 23-year-old could play for a "(Scottish) top six club".

Goals from Nikola Katic, Glenn Middleton (two) and Alfredo Morelos gave Rangers a 4-0 win against Shankland's side, ensuring progression to the Scottish League Cup semi-finals.
