West Ham United advanced into the next round of the Carabao Cup after hammering League Two side Macclesfield Town 8-0 at the London Stadium on Wednesday night.

The scoring started when Declan Rice crossed for Michail Antonio to head home the opener, before Grady Diangana's shot was saved and Robert Snodgrass prodded the ball home on the line.

Aaron Cresswell teed up Lucas Perez for the third, and it became four after the break when right back Ryan Fredericks went on a run and smashed the ball into the top corner of the net.

Angelo Ogbonna made it five with a header from a Snodgrass corner, Snodgrass grabbed his second from a Fredericks run, and the scoring was finished when Diangana grabbed two goals from Joe Powell passes.

It was a thumping win for West Ham, and whilst a host of experienced players flourished, it was young winger Diangana who grabbed the headlines with a superb debut in claret and blue.

Diangana, 19, has come up through the West Ham ranks, and was given a chance to shine by Manuel Pellegrini as he made his first appearance for the Hammers against the League Two side.
