Steve Bruce has confirmed at his press conference, which was broadcast on Aston Villa’s official Youtube channel, that Yannick Bolasie is close to starting for his side.

Bolasie has joined Villa from Everton on loan, but he has been kept in reserve so far.

The 29-year-old winger has only been fit enough to feature from the bench.

However, Bruce believes that Bolasie is edging closer to full fitness, and he could be used tomorrow evening against Bristol City.

“Well, it’s that one, whether it’s tomorrow or Tuesday. It’s imminent,” he said.

Bolasie’s inclusion in Villa’s team should help Bruce’s side pose more of an attacking threat.

The claret and blues have been in terrible form of late, with Bruce falling under big pressure.

If Bolasie doesn’t play against Bristol City tomorrow, then the following game for Villa will come against Preston North End next week.
