Newcastle United could be forced to start with Joselu against Leicester City.

According to the Shields Gazette, Joselu has been put on standby to start for Newcastle United against Leicester City at the weekend.

Salomon Rondon was expected to lead the line for Newcastle on Saturday, but Rafael Benitez may have to change his plans.

Rondon picked up an injury during Newcastle’s last match, which could leave him sidelined.

The Venezuelan is now facing a race against time to make it back for Newcastle’s next outing.

And it seems that Benitez is planning for the worst, as Joselu could be forced to start.

Joselu has had his critics at St. James’ Park, but he has been in solid form this season.

The Spaniard has two goals to his name, and he still seems to be a key part of Benitez’s plans at Newcastle.

The Magpies are still looking for their first win of the season, and currently sit in 18th place in the Premier League table.
