Aston Villa fans are desperate for a new manager to arrive.
Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce is under increasing pressure as Villa boss, and fans are regularly discussing who they would want to replace him.
Villa lost 2-1 at home to Sheffield Wednesday over the weekend, a result which has piled the pressure back on manager Bruce once again.
The perception is that Bruce is far too negative and isn't getting the most out of his attacking players, with a younger coach with more expansive ideas wanted.
Now, Villa fans are taking to Twitter to suggest potential replacements for Bruce, and Celtic's Brendan Rodgers is one name wanted by Villa supporters.
Rodgers would be a hugely ambitious target and most likely unattainable, but that hasn't stopped Villa fans from suggesting a stunning move to prise him away from Celtic.
Rodgers had done two successive trebles with Celtic but has appeared unhappy for some months now, after a disappointing summer transfer window and some underwhelming results.
Sunday's 2-1 defeat at Kilmarnock was another example, and Villa fans have reacted to that result by suggesting Villa could feasibly lure him away from the Bhoys.
Fans suggested that they would welcome Rodgers with open arms, believing that he is the perfect man to not only get Villa out of the Championship, but also build for the Premier League too, calling on him to return to English football and turn Villa around.
I’d welcome Brendan Rodgers with open arms if it could be done #avfc— clare villains (@VillainsClare) September 24, 2018
Dean Smith or Rodgers. Not only could they get us this league, then can build a style that competes in the Prem to, unlike someone like Bruce #avfc— Harry Johnson (@avfc_johnson) September 24, 2018
