QPR fans criticise Ebere Eze amid reported Tottenham interest

Tottenham Hotspur reportedly sent scouts to watch Ebere Eze for Queens Park Rangers against Millwall in midweek.

There might have been a few Tottenham Hotspur fans tuning in as Queens Park Rangers welcomed Norwich City to Loftus Road on Saturday afternoon.

Because, according to the Standard, Spurs were one of a number of Premier League clubs who sent scouts to watch Ebere Eze inspire the 2-0 midweek win against Milwall.

The 20-year-old has arguably been the brightest spark in a testing season so far for QPR and scored his third goal of the Championship campaign against the Lions, firing home a half-volley that would no doubt have impressed the Tottenham talent-spotters.

Unfortunately for QPR, however, not to mention any watching Spurs fans, Eze failed to kick on against Norwich as Steve McClaren’s side lost 1-0 to a Teemu Pukki goal this weekend.

The one-time Millwall youngster was played out of position on the right wing, but it seems that a number of QPR fans are not making any excuses for arguably his poorest performance of the season so far.

Eze struggled to provide any kind of threat in attack but, perhaps more worryingly, failed to track back as Norwich left-back Jamal Lewis stormed down the flanks time and again.

If Spurs scouts were present at Loftus Road again, they will have seen the other side of this immensely talented youngster's game. In short, he has much to learn.
