There might have been a few Tottenham Hotspur fans tuning in as Queens Park Rangers welcomed Norwich City to Loftus Road on Saturday afternoon.
The 20-year-old has arguably been the brightest spark in a testing season so far for QPR and scored his third goal of the Championship campaign against the Lions, firing home a half-volley that would no doubt have impressed the Tottenham talent-spotters.
Unfortunately for QPR, however, not to mention any watching Spurs fans, Eze failed to kick on against Norwich as Steve McClaren’s side lost 1-0 to a Teemu Pukki goal this weekend.
The one-time Millwall youngster was played out of position on the right wing, but it seems that a number of QPR fans are not making any excuses for arguably his poorest performance of the season so far.
Eze struggled to provide any kind of threat in attack but, perhaps more worryingly, failed to track back as Norwich left-back Jamal Lewis stormed down the flanks time and again.
If Spurs scouts were present at Loftus Road again, they will have seen the other side of this immensely talented youngster's game. In short, he has much to learn.
Eze need to learn how to move into space when #QPR are in possession.— Splat (@Splat_Blatter) September 23, 2018
At the moment he watches the ball, unaware of what's going on around him.
His problem is how to fit Eze into that team and play the two strikers!— neil flynn (@neilflynn61) September 23, 2018
Eze wasted on the wing and also gives the full back no cover!
We were 2nd best all day and would have been criminal to have nicked a draw!
Like what we have done in the previous 4 games, unfortunately Steve got the set up wrong today, baptiste was poor and eze really didn’t get involved— Andrew Nicholson (@guppy12345) September 22, 2018
Eze was poor today. He reminds a bit of Adel, talented but lazy. I wish we'd had Paul Smyth on the bench to replace him with.— Will Cam (@johnycat) September 22, 2018
It’s alright saying Eze was wasted out wide but he had to do more to get involved looked totally disinterested #QPR— Russell Maynard (@MrRussellmyn) September 22, 2018
Disappointing loss today but we deserved to lose. We were poor from the off, Eze looked out of it but arguably was playing out of position. Freeman’s lazy and our shooting as a team was dreadful. McCalren also made subs too late so they had little impact on game. ♂️ #QPR— Jayden Baker (@realjaydenbaker) September 22, 2018
#qpr Lucky to get nil , Eze looked like he was sulking most of the night— Dave Hoops (@davehoops) September 22, 2018
Eze doesn’t care when we don’t have the ball ffs— jude. (@Judecairns_) September 22, 2018
Eze had a shocker.— Ash. (@QPR_Ash) September 22, 2018
