Noel Whelan was following the match for BBC Radio Leeds, and the former Leeds striker gave his take on the final result at full time.
Whelan told BBC Radio Leeds at full-time (4:57pm, September 22, 2018): “We didn’t really create enough in that first 45. Stubborn Birmingham side which we knew they were going to be coming here, but when you give away soft goals like that, you know they will always going to be defending, defending, defending.”
Over the course of the 90 minutes at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon, hosts Leeds had 71% of the possession, took 18 shots of which five were on target, and earned seven corners, according to BBC Sport.
Visitors Birmingham had just 29% of the possession, took four shots of which three were on target, and earned four corners, according to BBC Sport.
