Rangers boss Steven Gerrard addressed the media in the aftermath of his side's superb 4-0 win over Dundee yesterday, and pinpointed a specific reason as to why his players deserve so much credit this season, as quoted by the Scotsman.
The Gers have made a fine start to life under Gerrard, losing just one competitive match this season, and they currently sit in fourth spot in the Scottish Premiership table, seven points adrift of league leaders Hearts.
Rangers are just two points behind Celtic, however, and Gerrard will surely believe that if they can finish above the Hoops, they will have a great chance of winning the league title.
The former Liverpool and England skipper spoke to reporters after yesterday's win over Dundee, and shared how his side's improvement over the past 12 months serves as evidence of just how far they have come, as quoted by the Scotsman:
“If you go back 12 months [to Rangers’ loss to Progres Niederkorn] 100 per cent, it was a wonderful achievement [qualifying for the Europa League group stage] for everyone and the players deserve incredible praise for that."
Next up for Rangers is a tough-looking trip to Villarreal for their Europa League opener, and Gerrard's men will be desperate to return to Glasgow with something to show for their efforts.
