Liverpool beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 at Wembley Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Liverpool underlined their title credentials on Saturday afternoon by beating Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 at Wembley Stadium.
After four wins in four games to open the season, this was seen as the biggest test so far for the 100% Reds, having been thrashed by Spurs at Wembley last season.
Liverpool had the ball in the net within seconds of kick off as Roberto Firmino's goal was ruled out for offside, with Jurgen Klopp's side posing a real threat throughout.
The opener did come in the first half as Michel Vorm flapped at a corner, and Georginio Wijnaldum sent Eric Dier's headed clearance into the net as Vorm couldn't stop the ball from crossing the line.
Liverpool continued to push for more, and grabbed their second when Sadio Mane's cross was turned on his own post by Jan Vertonghen, and when Vorm couldn't grasp the rebound, Firmino was on hand to score from close range.
Erik Lamela did pull one back, but Liverpool managed to hang on for the win, and are one just two teams to win every Premier League game so far this season, alongside Chelsea.
Liverpool players celebrated at the final whistle, and defensive leader Virgil van Dijk was one of the most vociferous players at the end of the game, heading over to the fans to celebrate.
Van Dijk, seen celebrating alongside defensive partner Joe Gomez in photos, encapsulated the joy of the Liverpool fans with his passionate celebrations, summing up just how Reds supporters feel after a fifth straight Premier League win.
