Queens Park Rangers midfielder Luke Freeman says the international break will benefit the R’s and also help the new signings adapt to the club’s style of play, according to their official page.

Rangers are currently on a two-match unbeaten run and travel to Bolton Wanderers on Saturday. After losing their opening four Championship fixtures, the west Londoners appear more prepared the challenges ahead.

“We all know we are far from the finished article and we’ve got work to do – that’s what we have been doing over the last week,” Freeman explained to qpr.co.uk.

“We feel a lot better for it and we certainly feel we are going to Bolton this weekend in the right frame of mind.

“It was a good time for a break because it has given the new boys a chance to get to know everybody and see how we work as a club.

“It has been really productive and we all feel like it has put us in a good position to build on the recent results we’ve had,” Freeman added.

QPR manager Steve McClaren has changed tactics to suit new loan signings Tomer Hemed and Nahki Wells up front, with Geoff Cameron looking to anchor the midfield in a traditional 4-4-2.

The move has paid dividends so far and Rangers will travel north with an air of confidence about them. The Trotters have started the season well, recording three wins from six but look set to be without striker Josh Magennis through injury.

Rangers have struggled at Bolton in recent seasons but, if the likes of Freeman and co. can help the R’s to a positive result, it will appear the hard work over the break has given QPR a new lease of life.
