Everton youngster Ademola Lookman played just over an hour of England's under-21 side's latest clash.

A number of Everton fans have been expressing their concern on Twitter after Ademola Lookman was replaced just after the hour-mark during England's under-21 side's European Championship qualifier with Latvia on Tuesday.

Lookman has endured a difficult time since he joined Everton and made an immediate impact with a goal on his debut against Manchester City.

His loan spell at RB Leipzig last term perhaps hinted that he may be edging towards a permanent exit at some stage, and it probably surprised some that he has remained in Marco Silva's ranks this term.

Lookman is yet to get a proper chance under the new manager, and he has arguably done his cause few favours after struggling to make an impact during the Three Lions' clash with Latvia.

The winger was replaced by Ryan Sessegnon 63 minutes into the game that England would win 2-1 thanks to goals from Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount.

Given his talent, it should have been the kind of game that Lookman relished. But his inability to stamp his authority on the qualifier has left several Toffees fans feeling slightly concerned.

Some are worried that Lookman is not going to realise his potential with Everton, and the club perhaps made a mistake rejecting Leipzig's £22 million bid in the summer, with Sky Sports reporting at the time that the Toffees were holding out for £28 million

The blame is not solely being placed at Lookman's feet - with some Everton fans suggesting that the club are partially responsible for his struggles - but there is plenty of worry after his performance on international duty.

Here is some of the reaction to Lookman's display and fairly early substitution...
