Newcastle’s Yedlin faced Neymar in America’s friendly against Brazil.

Neymar has ridiculed Newcastle United defender DeAndre Yedlin by claiming he does not know who the USA international is, after the Toon right-back accused Neymar of diving – and some Newcastle fans are shocked by Neymar’s response.

A video of former Tottenham Hotspur and Sunderland right-back Yedlin went viral, after fouling Neymar in Brazil’s 2-0 win over Yedlin’s United Stated, with goals coming from Roberto Firmino and indeed a penalty from Neymar.

Yedlin was caught reacting to a foul on Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar by asking the referee if he had “watched the World Cup”, where the Brazilian was constantly accused of diving in Russia.

Neymar, 26, reacted to the news by commenting on Yedlin, as quoted by the Chronicle: “Unfortunately I don’t have much to say,” Neymar said. “He’s the type of player…I don’t know so I have no reason to be worried about it.”

Yedlin remains one of the first names on Rafa Benitez’s team sheet at St. James’ Park, and even showed his class by scoring against Manchester City last time out in a 2-1 loss to the Premier League champions.

Some Newcastle fans reacted to Neymar’s comments on their club’s defender, with the majority unimpressed by the Brazilian superstar’s decision to try and embarrass Yedlin. Many suggested his comments were unprofessional.
