Rangers ace Morelos made his debut for Colombia against Venezuela.

Falcao has backed Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos to become his eventual replacement for Colombia, as quoted by The Daily Record, after he made his debut for his country – and some Rangers fans have reacted on Twitter.

Morelos, 22, has started the 2018-19 season in excellent form for Steven Gerrard’s Rangers, scoring six goals and creating another two strikes in his opening 13 league and cup appearances.

It saw the former HJK Helsinki striker called up to Colombia’s national side for the first time, and he was handed his debut as a 77th minute substitute during the 2-1 win over Venezuela.

He replaced Monaco striker Falcao from the bench and the ex-Manchester United and Chelsea loanee believes Morelos has all the attributes required to replace him as Colombia’s main man in the near future.

“I liked his work rate and he’s willing to learn. There’s a lot to like when you look at the kids coming though. He’s already playing for his country at such a young age and it’s clear he will be a regular for years to come,” Falcao said.

Morelos could earn his second cap for his country on Wednesday, as Colombia play host to Lionel Messi’s Argentina in what will be a huge clash.

Some Rangers fans reacted to Falcao’s comments on Twitter, and the Ibrox support was more than excited after hearing that Falcao had been impressed by their star striker.
